Australian doctors forced to improvise with snorkels and welding masks amid PPE shortages

As the Australian Federal Government increases its capacity to test for Coronavirus, doctors are warning that without personal protective equipment, they’re unable to treat potential cases.

Some GPs have completely run out of things like masks, gloves and gowns, as stocks have been directed to hospitals and fever clinics.

It’s left health professionals sharing tips online about re-using equipment, or in some cases, improvising with snorkels and items from the hardware store.
